Irishmen Curtis Fleming and Stephen Henderson form part of the caretaker management team at Charlton Athletic following the departure of Mike Appleton.

Fleming, who earned 10 caps for the Boys in Green, gains temporary promotion at the League One club who are 14th in the table ahead of Saturday’s game against Blackpool.

The former defender has assumed coaching roles at several clubs since returning, including Middlesbrough, Crystal Palace and most recently alongside Nigel Pearson at Bristol City.

He will be assisted by former club captain and current Senior Professional Development Phase Lead Coach Jason Pearce.

Fleming, Pearce and goalkeeping coach Stephen Henderson have taken training at Sparrows Lane today, working with a squad that now includes former Ireland U21 captain Conor Coventry since his recent transfer from West Ham United.

First-team coach Richard O’Donnell follows Appleton in being relieved of his duties.
