Jonathan Afolabi has today joined Belgian club KV Kortrijk for an undisclosed fee, Bohemians have confirmed.

The striker was the Premier Division's joint top goalscorer this year and earned a nomination for PFA Ireland Player of the Year Award.

The 23-year-old had one year left on his Dalymount Park contract.

“It has been a pleasure and an honour to play for Bohs the last year and a half," he said.

“I’d like to thank the coaching staff, my teammates and all the fans for making my time here very enjoyable. I’ll be moving on with a lot of good memories and moments in my career that have helped me improve.

“Lastly, I would like to wish the club all the best going forward. I will be supporting the lads from afar. Up the Bohs.”

Kortrijk are currently the bottom side in the Belgian top flight with 10 points after 20 games.
