'That's arrogance' - Roy Keane unhappy with Virgil van Dijk's Man Utd criticism
Daniel Sturridge insisted the Liverpool talisman was not being arrogant in his assessment of Man Utd.
Roy Keane took Liverpool defender Virgil van Dijk to task for what the Sky Sports pundit perceived as 'arrogance' in the wake of today's scoreless draw with Man Utd.
Jurgen Klopp's side were on top throughout but couldn't find a way to break down the visitors to Anfield.
“There was only one team trying to win the game," van Dijk said afterwards. "Unfortunately it didn’t happen. We want to win every game, especially a team like them.
“It’s frustrating as we were superior in all aspects and they were just hoping on the counter attack to hurt us. In the end they are buzzing with a point and we are disappointed with a point.
“They aren’t in the best phase so coming here you have to worry about the threat we have. But we should have won today. There are big games coming up and we won’t dwell on it.”

Keane blasted the Dutchman for his post-match comments, insisting Man Utd deserved more respect.
“There’s a lot of arrogance coming out of him," the Corkman said, "dissing Manchester United like that."
“He needs reminding that he is playing for a club that has won one title in 30-odd years.
“Manchester United are in a difficult place, just like Liverpool have been in a difficult place for many years. So maybe that arrogance backfired on him today.”

"It's arrogance," he added. "It is frustration, but his tone when he is talking about Man United, as if they'd turn up and beat Man United. We all expected the worst, but you still have to go and do it.
"That's what great teams do. That's what teams that win championships every year do, the Man Citys, Man Uniteds, or Liverpool of the '80s."
