Gus Poyet has again flirted with the idea of taking the upcoming Ireland vacancy as he hits stalemate in talks over a contract extension with Greece.

Within an hour of torpedoing Stephen Kenny’s Ireland into fourth place of their Euro qualifying group by completing home and away wins, the ex-Uruguay boss spoke with excitement about the prospect of being their next manager.
