Spain dumped out of World Cup on penalties by Russia

Russia have qualified for the quarter-finals of the World Cup after a 4-3 penalty shoot-out win over Spain. The teams were level at 1-1 after 90 minutes and extra-time in Moscow.

Russia captain Igor Akinfeev was the hero as the hosts stunned Spain 4-3 on penalties after they played out a 1-1 draw at Moscow’s Luzhniki Stadium.
