Dirk Kuyt was already a bit of a legend at Anfield but this message has cemented that status forever.

The Dutch winger made 208 appearances for Liverpool in his six years at the club, scoring 51 goals in the process.

He left in 2012 but still plays professionally, back home with former club Feyenoord.

The Dutch side faced Liverpool arch-rivals Manchester United in the Europa League recently and Kuyt explained that the opposing fans reminded him how much he loved Liverpool.

“We played against Manchester United. The 60,000 supporters shouted against me and they shouted, 'You Scouse b*****d!'

“When your rivals shout at you it’s not the best thing that can happen to you,” Kuyt explained. “but actually it made me proud because I felt proud to be named a Scouser - an adopted Scouser - because for me Scousers are good people; hard-working people, committed people and people who never give up.”

Naturally, ‘Pool fans loved it.
