FIFA considering sanctions against Republic of Ireland for centenary jersey

FIFA is considering sanctions against the Republic of Ireland for including a reference to the 1916 centenary celebrations on their jerseys during a friendly in March, according to AFP.

FIFA are reportedly evaluating the jerseys won by the Irish team when they played Switzerland on March 25. The jerseys were embroidered with the words Éire and Ireland and both dates - 1916 and 2016.
