St Patrick's Athletic have won the EA Sports Cup after a 4-1 victory over Limerick FC at Markets Field.

Lee Lynch opened the scoring for Limerick after 17 minutes with a wonder goal from 25 yards that sent their fans into dreamland.

However, Pats fought back in style even though they had to wait until the second half for their scores.

Christy Fagan levelled for the Dublin side on 65 minutes with a tap-in from a low cross by Billy Dennehy.

Conan Byrne then put the Dublin side in front with six minutes to go and late goals in the final two minutes from Jamie McGrath and Graham Kelly put the icing on the cake.
