Norwich extend contract of ‘special player’ Wes Hoolahan

Ireland international Wes Hoolahan has committed his future to Norwich by signing a new two-year deal.

The 34-year-old creative midfielder is the Canaries' longest-serving player and has scored 45 times in 338 outings since arriving from Blackpool in 2008.

Norwich boss Alex Neil told the Sky Bet Championship club's official website: "Wes has always been a special player for us.

“More often than not, he's the one I turn to when I need someone to deliver something for me, and he never really lets me down.

"He's a quality player. We all know his qualities. He'll be key for us this year."

Hoolahan, who scored once in four appearances for his country at Euro 2016, began his career with Shelbourne and has also played for Scottish side Livingston.
