Nightmare evening for Richard Keogh, who scored this own goal and then conceded a penalty too

In-form Burnley leapfrogged promotion rivals Derby into third place in the Championship table thanks to a well-deserved 4-1 victory, in which Richard Keogh played a key role.

Burnley took a first-half lead when Keogh headed into his own net, as the retreating Keogh could only divert a Matthew Lowton cross past Scott Carson.

Jacob Butterfield immediately replied with a Derby equaliser but Keogh again granted Burnley the lead, clumsily bundling over Andre Gray in the box, with Gray picking himself up to convert his 17th goal of the season.

A second penalty five minutes later, given when defender Jason Shackell handled a cross into the box, allowed Sam Vokes to also score from the spot, before Scott Arfield completed the scoring with a deflected effort.

For the stuttering Rams, the result means they are still without a league win since Boxing Day.

Twitter wasn’t kind to the Irish centre-half, who has been wearing a protective mask since recovering from an operation on his nose, which was broken in three places earlier this month.
