Check out Ireland's base for the Euro 2016 finals

The Republic of Ireland have chosen Versailles as their base for next summer’s Euro 2016 finals in France.

Manager Martin O’Neill and assistant Roy Keane, along with Football Association of Ireland chief executive John Delaney, visited the venue, which is close to Paris, after last weekend’s draw.

Delaney said: “The facilities and accommodation in Versailles are second-to-none, and will cater for every need of the team, management and backroom staff.

“I visited the area with Martin O’Neill and Roy Keane, and both are extremely impressed and looking forward to being based there.”

O’Neill, Keane and their players will stay at the UEFA-approved Trianon Palace and train at the municipal football facility, which is home to AFC Versailles.
