The Preston supporter who the club’s players and fans rallied behind during their Sky Bet League One play-off campaign has revealed she lied about having terminal cancer.

North End fan Linda Moon had claimed to have the disease in her bowel and her story touched both the club and players, with the League One play-off final trophy brought to her home and the likes of Kevin Davies giving her signed merchandise.
