VIDEO: Russian footballer proposes on pitch

See, some footballers are romantics at heart.

23-year-old Russian international Ivan Novoseltsev melted hearts yesterday, when he proposed to his girlfriend straight after a football match.

His side FC Rostov had just won their fourth successive game in the Russian Premier League, beating Torpedo Moscow 1-0.

The player gave his team-mates and fans another reason to cheer after the full-time whistle blew.

He called his girlfriend Katerina Keyru over from the sideline.

Novoseltsev went down on one knee and asked Keyru, who is herself a professional basketball player, to marry him.

She said yes, with the proposal and his team-mates' congratulations all captured on film. The young defender was fully prepared, with the ring ready and flowers for his new fiancee.
