VIDEO: Football’s favourite loudmouth Joey Barton reads mean tweets

Twitter philosopher, QPR captain and general controversy generator Joey Barton read out mean tweets about himself for BT Sport.

The notoriously short-tempered Liverpudlian read out a selection of tweets slagging off his looks, his football skills and his captaincy.

Naturally, he gave as good as he got - slating the tweeters right back for their own shortcomings and suggesting they would have to try a lot harder to upset him.

Although we think one tweet definitely got under his skin: “It’s like Joey Barton just discovered a GCSE philosophy textbook and is really proud that he’s got to chapter two.”

Ouch!

The general consensus seems to be there’s probably been a lot worse said about him.
