WATCH: Kickabout game transformed into Champions League fixture

To celebrate the return of Champions League football this week, Mastercard surprised a group of amatuer players and turned their 6-a-side game into a night to remember.

The Turkish amateurs were warming up on an astroturf pitch when the Champions League music began playing and mascots appeared, running on to the field and joining hands with the players.

Drapes were pulled away to reveal cheering onlookers and the Champions League football symbol was carried on.

The footballers were surprised at this, but allowed themselves to be lined up in front of the fans and cameramen.

They were completely stunned when legendary referee Pierluigi Collina then appeared to officiate the game. The Italian, who retired in 2005, is regarded by many as football’s greatest ever ref.

He shook the hands of each player and mascot, although one overwhelmed footballer leaned in to get a hug instead. Collina then tossed a coin and started the game.

Every 5-a-side players dream come true!
