Sky and BT pay more than five billion for Premier League TV rights

Sky and BT are paying billions for the right to screen Premier League games from 2016-19.

The Premier League has announced a staggering 70 per cent increase in the value of its British television rights for the 2016-19 seasons with Sky and BT Sports paying a combined £5.136billion (€6.9billion) to show games.
