Statement due as club set to sign rapist Evans

Angry protests are expected to grow today in a backlash over rapist Ched Evans’ return to football.

An online petition criticising the move has attracted around 2,000 signatures each hour since news broke claiming that Evans, 26, was set to return to the game with League One club Oldham Athletic.
