Will Ferrell surprises US fans in Brazil as Klinsmann grants national day off
This great video shows Ferrell making a surprise appearance in a bar in Recife last night, saying he "will bite every German player if I have to.”
The US team face Germany tonight in their final group game, knowing a draw would be enough to see them through to the knock-out stages. Ferrell appeared in a bar packed with American supporters and was introduced as "the Anchorman."
After announcing he would be playing he admitted: "I’m not in the best shape, ok, not in soccer shape, but I’m going to try my best.”
“If the game gets close I will bite, I will bite the opponent,” he continued.
“I will bite every German player if I have to.”
Meanwhile, US Soccer tweeted a letter template to all bosses pre-signed by Jürgen Klinsmann, requesting their employees be excused from work for the purposes of watching the game.
The letter says it is vital for employees to be given the day off as “We will need the full support of the nation if we are to advance to the next round.”
