Giving up on Wayne Rooney

Wayne Rooney can’t catch a break. The English media are debating whether he belongs in the national team’s starting line-up at all, his awful corner in the Italy game is being replayed relentlessly, and now Jim-Jim Nugent of FM104 has parodied his woes.

In this song, set to the tune of Say Something (I’m Giving Up On You) by Laura Doran, Rooney is told:

“Wayne Rooney, I’m giving up on you.

“You used to have us enthralled, then you got that new hair, you played better bald.”
