Arsenal hoping for return of injured pair for final

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Thomas Vermaelen will be assessed ahead of Arsenal’s FA Cup final clash with Hull.

England midfielder Oxlade-Chamberlain has been out with a groin injury since the league clash with Tigers on April 20, while defender Vermaelen missed the season finale at Norwich after having five stitches in his knee.

Aaron Ramsey, Kieran Gibbs, Jack Wilshere and Abou Diaby all returned from injury at Carrow Road, while Wenger faces a selection dilemma on whether to start number one Wojciech Szczesny or FA Cup ever-present Lukasz Fabianski.

Theo Walcott and Serge Gnabry (both knee) remain absent.

Provisional squad: Szczesny, Fabianski, Sagna, Jenkinson, Gibbs, Monreal, Vermaelen, Mertesacker, Koscielny, Rosicky, Arteta, Flamini, Diaby, Ramsey, Wilshere, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Cazorla, Ozil, Kallstrom, Podolski, Giroud.
