Ireland set for Oman date

The Republic of Ireland will face Oman as part of their preparations for the Euro 2016 qualifying campaign.

Ireland will entertain Paul Le Guen’s men at the Aviva Stadium in Dublin on Wednesday, September 3, four days before their opening qualifier in Georgia.

The two sides last met in September 2012 when goals from Robbie Brady, Alex Pearce, Shane Long and Kevin Doyle secured a 4-1 win at Craven Cottage.

It will be manager Martin O’Neill’s last opportunity to run the rule over his players before the competitive games start with the Republic preparing for friendlies against Turkey, Italy, Costa Rica and Portugal later this month and into June.
