United not in for Ozil
Manchester United’s deadline-day recruitment drive will not include a pursuit of Mesut Ozil from Real Madrid.
The odds on Ozil joining United plummeted this morning amid speculation the Germany star would prefer to join the Red Devils rather than Arsenal, who it is reported have agreed a fee with Real Madrid.
But it is understood Red Devils chief David Moyes has not identified Ozil as a target and has no intention of hijacking any deal Arsenal may be working on.
Reports surfaced this morning that United were also interested in Ozil, but it is understood that the Premier League champions have no interest in the player.
Elsewhere, Eredivisie side Vitesse have brought in two Premier League midfielders – Everton’s Francisco Junior and Chelsea’s Christian Atsu, who joins fellow Blues players Gael Kakuta and Cristian Cuevas at the Arnhem-based side - on season-long loan deals.
