Villa braced for Benteke bids

Aston Villa may be bracing themselves for a long summer of protracted negotiations after confirming last night that star striker Christian Benteke had handed in a transfer request.

Benteke had already been linked with moves to Villa’s Premier League rivals Arsenal and Chelsea this summer after a magnificent maiden season in England.
