Ayre can't make European promise

Liverpool managing director Ian Ayre has sought to temper expectations heading into next season by admitting it may take a while to regain Champions League football.

Brendan Rodgers’ first season in charge saw some progress made but the Reds still finished 12 points adrift of fourth place.
