Millwall chairman John Berylson admits he was reluctant to accept Kenny Jackett’s resignation after the pair developed a friendship throughout their five-and-a-half years of working together.

Berylson was made chairman at the Den in March 2007 and half a year later he axed manager Willie Donachie with the Lions struggling at the bottom of npower League One.
