Sturridge makes Liverpool debut

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has thrown new £12m signing Daniel Sturridge into the fray for his side’s FA Cup third-round clash with non-league Mansfield at the One Call Stadium this afternoon.

Former Chelsea striker Sturridge is one of eight changes to the team that defeated Sunderland 3-0 on their last outing, with Brad Jones, Sebastian Coates, Joe Allen, Suso, Jonjo Shelvey, Jack Robinson and Jamie Carragher all drafted in, the latter as captain.

As for the Blue Square Bet Conference side, whose manager Paul Cox celebrates his 41st birthday today and who married on Friday, they showone change as Louis Briscoe replaces the benched Colin Daniel.
