Park Ji-sung did not make the matchday squad for QPR in their vital Barclays Premier League match against fellow strugglers Reading at Loftus Road.
The South Korean had not trained all week due to a knee problem and did not make the cut for Mark Hughes’ side, while Bobby Zamora dropped to the bench with the England forward having struggled in the week with a minor hip complaint, with Djibril Cisse coming in.
Stephane Mbia was unavailable as he started a three-match ban following his sending-off at Arsenal last time out, and Anton Ferdinand returned to the Rangers defence.
Jamie Mackie started, with Shaun Wright-Phillips on the bench in the only other change from the Emirates Stadium, with Armand Traore fit to continue in defence following a leg problem.
Reading boss Brian McDermott made four changes from the Royals’ last league outing against Fulham.
He brought back in Republic of Ireland midfielder Noel Hunt along with Chris Gunter, Sean Morrison and Garath McLeary, while Jimmy Kebe and Pavel Pogrebnyak were among the substitutes. Midfielder Danny Guthrie missed out with a thigh strain.
