Tiote to face Bruges
Midfielder Cheick Tiote will start Newcastle’s Europa League clash with Club Bruges tomorrow night as he prepares to serve a three-match Premier League ban.
Manager Alan Pardew has confirmed the Ivory Coast international, who was sent off during Sunday’s 1-1 derby draw at Sunderland, will be in the team, along with youngsters Shane Ferguson and Sammy Ameobi, who could join older brother Shola in the line-up.
However, skipper Fabricio Coloccini, who turned in a fine individual display at the Stadium of Light before succumbing to cramp on his return from injury, will be rested, while keeper Rob Elliot (groin) will also be missing.
Provisional squad: Krul, Harper, Simpson, Tavernier, Ferguson, S. Taylor, Perch, Williamson, Santon, Tiote, Cabaye, Gutierrez, Ben Arfa, Anita, Bigirimana, Marveaux, Obertan, Vuckic, Abeid, Amalfitano, Sammy Ameobi, Ba, Cisse, Shola Ameobi, Campbell.
