Marco Reus and Toni Kroos both helped themselves to two goals apiece as Germany made an emphatic statement of intent in World Cup Qualifying Group C with a 6-1 rout of Ireland in Dublin.

Reus and Kroos were joined on the scoresheet by Mesut Ozil and Miroslav Klose as the Germans heaped more woe on beleaguered Irish boss Giovanni Trapattoni, for whom Andy Keogh hit an injury-time consolation.
