Thrilling win takes Rovers top

Blackburn moved to the top of the npower Championship as a brace from Jordan Rhodes helped them to a 5-3 victory over Bristol City in a thriller at Ashton Gate.

Rovers were behind inside the first minute thanks to Albert Adomah’s effort for City, but frontman Rhodes – who became the visitors’ record signing when he joined from Huddersfield for £8million last month – opened his account for his new club just before the half-hour mark to draw things level.
