No move for Owen
Former England, Liverpool and Manchester United striker Michael Owen remains without a club after failing to secure a deal before the summer transfer deadline.
But as a free agent, the 32-year-old is not bound by the restrictions of transfer windows and could still sign a contract somewhere in due course.
Owen, who was released by United in the summer after three injury-plagued years at Old Trafford, had been linked with Stoke and Everton during the summer.
Owen tweeted: “Nothing to confirm just yet, will be an interesting few days now that the transfer window is closed.”
Owen made his name as precocious teenager with Liverpool and has also had spells at Real Madrid and Newcastle.
