Rooney dropped for van Persie

Wayne Rooney has sensationally been dropped to the bench by Sir Alex Ferguson for Manchester United’s Premier League encounter with Fulham at Old Trafford.

With new signing Robin van Persie handed a full debut, Rooney was only amongst the substitutes as Shinji Kagawa was also named in Ferguson’s starting line-up.
