Blues sign Spanish defender

Spanish defender Cesar Azpilicueta has completed his move from Marseille to Chelsea, the French club have confirmed.

The 22-year-old right-back has joined the European champions in a deal reportedly worth €8.8m.

Azpilicueta, who has represented Spain at several youth levels and played at the Olympics this summer, missed Marseille’s Europa League qualifier against FC Sheriff Tiraspol last night as he travelled to London to complete the deal.
