Sunderland defender moves on

Sunderland have confirmed defender Marcos Angeleri has left the club to join Estudiantes.

Angeleri joined the Black Cats from Estudiantes in July 2010 for a fee believed to be £1.5m but has struggled to impress under either Steve Bruce or Martin O’Neill on Wearside.

The 29-year-old made just three appearances in total and has returned to his native Argentina, with whom he has won four caps.
