Shelbourne look to bounce back from 4-0 defeat
Shelbourne will be looking for a better derby day outcome than last week when they host St Patrick's Athletic at Tolka Park at 8pm tonight.
They endured a surprise 4-0 loss to Shamrock Rovers then, albeit with 10 men for the best part of 90 minutes following goalkeeper Dean Delany’s dismissal.
The Saints were held to frustrating scoreless draw at Bohemians so it will be a case of two sides with big aspirations looking to get back to winning ways in a fixture that always excites the Dublin public.
Shels fans will recall that their side dumped St Pat’s from the FAI Ford Cup at the semi-final stage last year.
Shelbourne are at full strength bar Paul Byrne (ankle injury) and suspended goalkeeper Dean Delany.
Shels boss Alan Mathews said: “I would have liked to play Rovers with 11 players. It was always going to be a big test for us after such an early red card.”
