Wolves chairman Steve Morgan insisted the club were right to sack Mick McCarthy after the appointment of his assistant Terry Connor as their new manager until the end of the season.

Connor was named today as the new boss at Molineux with 13 games left to preserve the club’s Barclays Premier League status.
