Injured Terry out, Cahill on bench for Blues
Chelsea were without captain John Terry and left new signing Gary Cahill on the bench for their Barclays Premier League visit to face Swansea at the Liberty Stadium.
Terry, whose court hearing into his alleged racial abuse of QPR defender Anton Ferdinand begins tomorrow, was ruled out with a knee injury as manager Andre Villas-Boas selected Branislav Ivanovic and David Luiz at centre-half, while Oriel Romeu came into midfield for the injured Ramires as Fernando Torres continued up front.
Swansea manager Brendan Rodgers restored his first-choice line-up after the FA Cup defeat at Bolton as the likes of Michel Vorm, Steven Caulker, Joe Allen, Scott Sinclair and Danny Graham all started.
Swansea: Vorm, Rangel, Caulker, Williams, Taylor, Britton, Allen, Sigurdsson, Dyer, Graham, Sinclair.
Subs: Tremmel, Routledge, Monk, Lita, Moore, Agustien, Richards.
Chelsea: Cech, Bosingwa, Ivanovic, Luiz, Cole, Meireles, Romeu, Malouda, Sturridge, Torres, Mata.
Subs: Turnbull, Essien, Lukaku, Ferreira, Cahill, Bertrand, Piazon.
Referee: Andre Marriner (W Midlands)
