Rodriguez returns for Liverpool

Midfielder Maxi Rodriguez returned to Liverpool’s starting line-up to face QPR at Anfield.

The Argentinian, who has scored 10 times in his last nine starts, was one of three changes from Monday’s defeat at Fulham with Dirk Kuyt and Stewart Downing replacing Craig Bellamy and Andy Carroll, while Jay Spearing is suspended.

QPR manager Neil Warnock made just one change from the draw with West Brom for his side’s first meeting with Liverpool since 1996 as Tommy Smith replaced the absent Heidar Helguson up front.
