Defoe and Bale doubtful for Spurs

Tottenham will gave fitness tests to Jermain Defoe (hamstring) and Gareth Bale (foot) before deciding whether they travel with the squad to face Stoke at the Britannia Stadium on Sunday.

Rafael van der Vaart has recovered from his hamstring injury but Ledley King is a doubt with the knee problem that ruled him out of last weekend’s win against Bolton.

Sandro is struggling with a groin problem while long-term absentees Michael Dawson (Achilles), Tom Huddlestone (ankle) and Niko Kranjcar (thigh) remain out.
