Sunderland to resume O'Neill talks today

Sunderland chairman Ellis Short was today hoping to thrash out a deal to make Martin O’Neill the club’s new manager.

Short is understood to have held talks with the former Wycombe, Norwich, Leicester, Celtic and Aston Villa boss last night, and will resume negotiations later today with a view to making a swift appointment.
