Crouch to miss Kiev clash
Stoke’s record signing Peter Crouch will miss tomorrow night’s Europa League Group E clash with Dynamo Kiev having stayed at home as a precaution.
Crouch sat out a training session after making his debut for the Potters against Liverpool on Saturday and has not travelled to Ukraine, along with Matthew Etherington (back), Rory Delap (groin) and Marc Wilson (hamstring).
Jonathan Woodgate is not part of Stoke’s Europa League squad list and Asmir Begovic has been rested, while Matthew Upson is with the group but will have his condition assessed before kick-off
Thomas Sorensen will take Begovic’s place in goal and manager Tony Pulis is also likely to give a run-out to new recruits Cameron Jerome – yet to make his debut – and Wilson Palacios.
Provisional squad: Sorensen, Huth, Shawcross, Upson, Wilkinson, Whelan, Whitehead, Diao, Walters, Jones, Shotton, Arismendi, Pennant, Palacios, Jerome, Nash.
