Greene absent for Rovers

Sligo Rovers will continue their push to be league champions when they take on Bray Wanderers at the Showgrounds tonight (kick-off 7.45pm).

Rovers gave their title ambitions a major boost with a late victory over champions Shamrock Rovers on Friday.

Sligo must plan without Aaron Greene as he is ruled out after picking up a knock against Rovers.

Sligo boss Paul Cook said: “It is important for our supporters to remain patient on Monday night.

“You have to work very hard to get any result in this league and we need our fans to remember that.

“I thought our fans were magnificent last Friday, they really drove the players on and I’m sure it will be the same against Bray.

“This is an opportunity for Sligo Rovers that hasn’t come along too often.”

Bray suffered a 3-0 home defeat against St Patrick’s Athletic on Friday and will be looking to put in a decent performance in Sligo.

Wanderers welcome back Adam Mitchell from suspension and Derek Prendergast from injury.

Midfielder Danny O'Connor will not travel due to suspension.

Bray boss Pat Devlin said: "We did well in the first half on Friday but we had no luck after the break and in the end the better team on the night won.

“Sligo will be a tough encounter. We know what to expect and we need to roll up our sleeves and get on with it".
