Dundalk trio out for cup tie
Dundalk and Drogheda United meet at Oriel Park tonight for their FAI Ford Cup fourth round replay (kick-off 7.45pm).
The two sides met on Friday night in a game that finished all square when Mark Quigley equalised from the spot after Dave Rogers had put Drogheda ahead.
Dundalk go into the game without Eoghan Osborne (broken leg), Stephen McDonnell (knee) and Stephen Maher (broken foot).
Mark Griffin and Ross Gaynor are both doubts as they are struggling with injuries.
Speaking ahead of the fifth Louth derby of the season, Dundalk assistant boss Darius Kierans said: "We weren't happy with it (Friday’s performance). It was a poor performance and it was disappointing for the fans that travelled down from Dundalk.
"We started the game really poorly and, if we're to be honest about it, I think if Stephen Quigley hadn't been sent off we might not be still in the cup.
"It has got to be better than it was on Friday night and the players know that."
Peter McMahon returns to the Drogheda squad, while Colm O'Brien and Jack Flynn remain out injured.
Stephen Quigley is suspended for the clash after getting sent off in Friday’s fixture.
Drogheda boss Mick Cooke said: “It was another cracker of a match and to be honest we should have been two or three ahead before the penalty.
“To be honest, I'd be more worried if we weren't creating chances. But that's the way things go. It's all to play for and we will be quietly confident that we can get a win at Oriel.”
