King forced into two changes for Ireland U21 game

Republic of Ireland under-21 manager Noel King has been forced to make a couple of changes to his squad for the forthcoming UEFA Under-21 Championship Group 7 fixtures against Hungary and Turkey.

Shrewsbury striker James Collins was added to the squad today while Arsenal striker Rhys Murphy has also been drafted in after receiving FIFA clearance to switch to the Republic of Ireland having represented England in competitive underage internationals previously.

Cardiff’s Joe Mason and Inverness striker Aaron Doran have been withdrawn by their clubs due to injury.

The Republic of Ireland host Hungary in their opening fixture at the Showgrounds, Sligo, on Thursday, September 1 (7.30pm). They will then travel to Manisa to play Turkey on Tuesday, September 6 (4.00pm Irish).

Tickets for the fixture v Hungary will be available from Sligo Rovers FC on Tuesday, August 30, and Wednesday, August 31, from 10am to 12pm and 2pm to 6pm at the Showgrounds, Club Reception Window.

Price: €5 Adult, €2 Children.
