Kewell makes Victory signing
Australia forward Harry Kewell has signed for A-League side Melbourne Victory.
The 32-year-old former Leeds and Liverpool star had been playing for Turkish giants Galatasaray but was apparently keen to ply his trade in his homeland.
After signing a three-year deal to end speculation over where he would move, Kewell said: āI am proud to be Australian and want to give something back to the game there. It has always been my ambition to play in my home country and I am very pleased to have that opportunity by playing for Melbourne Victory.ā
Victory chairman Anthony Di Pietro hailed the deal as āthe most significant signing in Australian footballā.
