Having scored the winner against IBV of Iceland in the previous round, Derek Doyle worked the oracle again for St Patrick's Athletic tonight.

Doyle scored the clinching second goal to seal St. Pat’s passage through to the third round of the Europa League following this stirring win over Kazakhstan side Shakter Karagandy at Richmond Park.

Trailing 2-1 from the first leg, St. Pat’s - roared on by a big home crowd - started superbly with central defender Evan McMillan’s header from a corner squirming to the net to give the home side a 14th minute lead.

Winger Doyle then added the second on 69 minutes when he slid in to shoot home from Derek Pender’s cross.

The win maintains the Irish side’s European adventure as they now travel to Ukraine next week to play Karpaty Lviv in the next round.
