New Barca deal for Pedro

Barcelona have agreed a one-year contract extension with winger Pedro.

The Spain international‘s new deal ties him to the European champions until June 30, 2016 and has a buy-out clause of €150m – up from €90m.

Pedro will sign his new contract on Thursday morning, the Primera Division outfit have announced.

Since making his Barca first-team debut in the 2007/08 season, the 23-year-old has won 10 titles with the Catalan giants, including three Primera Division and two Champions Leagues.

In 2009, Pedro, who also penned a one-year extension with Barca 12 months ago, became the first player to score in all six major club competitions in one season as he scored in the Primera Division, Copa del Rey, Champions League, World Club Cup, and the Spanish and European Super Cups for Pep Guardiola’s side.

The Tenerife-born forward was also a member of Spain‘s World Cup-winning squad in South Africa last summer.

Meanwhile Udinese sporting director Fabrizio Larini insists Alexis Sanchez’s wish is to join Barcelona this summer.

Manchester City, Chelsea and Inter Milan are also interested in the South American winger, who is under contract with Udinese until June 2014.

Larini has brushed aside recent reports in Italy linking Sanchez with a possible move to Napoli should Argentina international Ezequiel Lavezzi leave the Naples outfit.

Lavezzi has been strongly linked with Manchester City.

“Would Napoli go for Sanchez if Lavezzi leaves?” said Larini to Gazzetta dello Sport.

“The negotiations (regarding Sanchez) with other clubs are at an advanced stage.

“At the moment Sanchez is involved in the Copa America but has clearly expressed his wish to play for Barcelona.”

Sanchez, who is valued at €50m, is currently on international duty with Chile.
