O'Brien back for Drogs

Drogheda United and Derry City meet in tonight’s Airtricity League Premier Division clash at Hunky Dorys Park, kick-off 7.45pm.

Mark O'Brien returns from suspension to boost the Drogheda midfield, which means that Jack Flynn is the only absentee through injury.

Drogheda manager Mick Cooke is looking forward to putting in a good performance against a quality side.

Cooke said: “We were outplayed by Bohemians at Dalymount but Friday is another game and we will just have to pick ourselves up and regroup.

“We have produced some good displays recently and I will be quietly confident that we can get something at home.

“We still have our eyes set firmly on UCD and the only way we can catch them is by getting more points on the board.”

The Candystripes must plan without Barry Molloy and Kevin Deery for the trip south.

And manager Stephen Kenny received a boost as defender Daniel Lafferty signed a new deal with the club.

Kenny said: "Daniel has been terrific this year. He has scored four goals away from home and for a defender to do that is a huge asset.

"This is our fifth road trip in three weeks so it has been a tough schedule.

"If we can win at Drogheda it will be a huge boost for us."
