New boys Derry City look to build on last result
Derry City will be hoping to build on their impressive draw against Shamrock Rovers when they take on Bohemians at the Brandywell tonight (kick-off 7.45pm).
City boss Stephen Kenny may have to plan without Patrick McEleney, who is a doubt through illness, although Emmet Friars is close to full fitness.
Kenny said: “The players can take confidence for coming from behind in Tallaght against Shamrock Rovers.
“We have been scoring goals recently at the Brandywell, which is important. Bohemians have some quality players so were expecting a really tough game.”
Killian Brennan and Danny Joyce are ruled out for Bohemians through suspension, however, Aidan Price returns after serving his ban.
Chris O’Connor remains out with a facial injury, while Ollie Cahill and Ger O’Brien are sidelined with hamstring strains.
Bohemians boss Pat Fenlon praised his players’ work rate against Sligo Rovers last Friday when they played nearly 90 minutes with 10 men: “I couldn’t fault them. The players have been brilliant.”
