Goals from Dinny Corcoran and Philip Hand saw Drogheda maintain their recent improvement with a third win in four games to stun Dundalk in the Louth derby at Oriel Park.

Dundalk had been unbeaten at home this season, but Mick Cooke's side, 11/1 to win with some bookmakers beforehand, revelled in ending that statistic.

Striker Corcoran put Drogheda ahead on 24 minutes when outjumping keeper Peter Cherrie to head home Hand's floated free-kick.

Hand then added the second two minutes into the second half when giving Cherrie little chance from a brilliantly struck free-kick,

Dundalk got a goal back when winger Daniel Kearns scored from close range five minutes from time.
